Jewish Community Federation-Young Leadership Division
The Young Leadership Division (YLD) of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland offers young Jewish singles and couples (ages 22 to 40) a broad range of social, educational, volunteer, philanthropic and leadership development opportunities. Our events connect young professionals and empower them to become active participants in their Jewish community. For more information visit
Social activities
Looking for something new to do? From a truly happy "Happy Hour" to the much anticipated hip and happening annual bash, YLD social events are a welcome end to the daily grind and a great way to meet new people.
Educational programs
YLD offers educational programs ranging from young adult missions to Israel and Russia to top-notch speakers on topics that are important and pertinent to young adults today. The LEADS (Leadership Education And Development Series) program teaches the ins-and-outs of volunteer involvement and community building. YLDers also have the opportunity to participate in the United Jewish Communities' Regional Conferences where young Jewish adults from across the country and around the world meet to discuss religious, cultural, social and international issues.
Hands-on volunteer opportunities
Whether painting the playground of Buckeye-Woodland Elementary School in Cleveland, planting flowers at the Hebrew Cultural Gardens or cleaning up a Jewish cemetery, when Cleveland's young adults join forces with people of different faiths and backgrounds, we make a profound difference in the lives of all Clevelanders.
Annual campaign activities
Our community relies on the strength and spirit of the younger generation to continue to fulfill our teaching that Kol Yisrael arevim zeh ba-zeh, all Jews are responsible for one another. Our work would not be possible without the Federation's annual Campaign for Jewish Needs– it's the most effective way to reach out and help our fellow Jews right here at home and in 60 countries around the world. Hundreds of YLDers make calls annually or visit with their peers to enlist contributions to the Campaign for Jewish Needs and get to know personally, the feeling of helping out a fellow Jew in need. Young Leadership Division members who make an annual contribution of $1,000 or more become members of the Ben-Gurion Society.
